Happy Birthday Dr. Seuss!

This week we enjoyed reading many Dr. Seuss books, including:
The Cat in the Hat
Wacky Wednesday
One Fish, Two Fish
Dr. Seuss's ABC

We played with Oobleck in the sensory table. A combination of water and cornstarch that produces a substance that is both wet and draw at the same time.

We created Cat in the Hat hats. Students were given red and white paper strips with the letters of their name written on them. They had to put them in the correct order and then continue the red/white pattern.

We created patterns with red and white beads and strung them onto pipe cleaners.

We graphed rainbow goldfish crackers and discussed which colors they had the least/most

We enjoyed a Wacky Wednesday day in the classroom. Students dressed in mismatched clothes and shoes, crazy hair and some in their p.j.'s. and went on a search to find wacky things in our classroom.

We used water color paint to create colorful fish.

Students were asked - If the Cat in the Hat came to your front door, would you let him in?

Oooohh..bleck!

Spotting something wacky
